The number is 2. Do you have 2 box:vol pairs? I usually delete the old one and then enter the new one. I "inquire" the old one first to use the same settings. Then I re-index the taskman and RPC broker files... Matthew M. As I am setting up a new server, I copied files and database from the original server (making sure that all GTM processes were out of the mumps.dat file first). Now, when I run VistA, I get the dreaded Taskman not running errors. Its been about 18 months since I went through this, so I am a little fuzzy on the problem. I think it stems from the name of the server having changed. I think this has to match the taskman parameters. So I did: GTM>do GETENV^%ZOSV GTM>w Y UCI^VOL^localhost^VOL:localhost GTM> on the old system, that "localhost" was "poweredge". So I edited my Taskman parameters, changing the instance of VOL:poweredge to VOL:localhost. Here is an inquiry of the file now: OUTPUT FROM WHAT FILE: VA DRUG CLASS// taskman SITE PARAMETERS (1 entry) Select TASKMAN SITE PARAMETERS BOX-VOLUME PAIR: ? Answer with TASKMAN SITE PARAMETERS BOX-VOLUME PAIR: VOL:localhost Select TASKMAN SITE PARAMETERS BOX-VOLUME PAIR: vOL:localhost ANOTHER ONE: STANDARD CAPTIONED OUTPUT? Yes// (Yes) Include COMPUTED fields: (N/Y/R/B): NO// b BOTH Computed Fields and Record Num ber (IEN) NUMBER: 2 BOX-VOLUME PAIR: VOL:localhost RESERVED: NO LOG TASKS?: NO SUBMANAGER RETENTION TIME: 2 TASKMAN JOB LIMIT: 990 TASKMAN HANG BETWEEN NEW JOBS: 0 MODE OF TASKMAN: GENERAL PROCESSOR OUT OF SERVICE: NO Auto Delete Tasks: No Manager Startup Delay: 1 So here is what my Taskman monitor says: Checking Taskman. Current $H=60394,56993 (May 09, [EMAIL PROTECTED]:49:53) RUN NODE=VOL:localhost is the wrong type in taskman site p arameters. (VOL:localhost is the wrong type in taskman site parameters.) Taskman is late by 5218098578 seconds. not running.. Checking the Status List: Node weight status time $J The Status List is empty. Checking the Schedule List: Taskman has 17 tasks scheduled. All of them are overdue. First task is 118375 seconds late. Checking the IO Lists: Last TM scan: 118400 sec, There are no tasks waiting for devices. Checking the Job List: There is 1 task waiting for a partition. Checking the Task List: There are 4 tasks currently running. On node VOL:localhost there are no free Sub-Manager(s). Status: Run On node VOL:poweredge there are no free Sub-Manager(s). Status: Run I think that I know how to change the task trying to run on VOL:poweredge into VOL:localhost, but I'm not sure why taskman won't run. Any thoughts? And for what it is worth, I think that VistA should NOT be worried about the host name of the computer that it is running on!
