For me, it's largely a question of scaling. Scaling on Windows still isn't
very good, and I'm not sure I could run 4k on a 28-30" screen at 100%
(default) scale and see things from normal distance comfortably. For now,
for me, I leave 4k to my TV. (UN65HU8550)

A number of the reasonably priced 4k monitors have some pretty large
limitations, like running at 30Hz or being TN garbage. That's starting to
change. Combine that with W10's supposedly improved scaling, and maybe the
balance shifts. I just hope W10 doesn't suck - I built a Haswell-E system
(X99-E WS, 32GB of 2800C15, and a 5820K that I plan to replace with the EE
Broadwell-E when/if it launches next year) on the bench, but decided to wait
for W10 to do a clean install before putting it into real use. In the
meantime, I've put the preview on it, but have mixed feelings.

Subject: [H] Greg>> 2D video question

I am thinking about upgrading my monitors. I use three.. a 30 and two 24s
and I want to go to three 28 or 30 inch 4K monitors. I would also switch my
GTX 660 to EVGA's GeForce GTX 970 FTW. I am not a gamer but I do video
editing it. Is it too soon to be making the upgrade to 4K?
thanks
