One thing I've noticed in Windows 8 is that if you try to do an in place upgrade (formerly repair install) to fix the (extremely common) windows corruption that DISM can't fix, you need to have the correct localization of Windows 8. For instance, it appears that a UK English ISO won't work with an US English install and vice versa. Does anyone know a way to find out which localization was installed initially to save time?
