Yeah but why do movies from blockbuster work for everyone. There should be a good way of making custom dvd's for home. So is plextor burners the best to go with. Is it better to use Single layer or Dual layer DVD burners? What about Single vs Dual layer Discs?

I saw that thread too but I don't think you have to go that far. PCMAG did a article about these, and CDR blanks. Apparently, while there are many brands there are only about 7 manufactures in the world. So where they actually come from is a crap shoot.

Memorex is a manufacturer, which means that can control quality better then others. I buy Memorex CDR RW DVD +RW DVD -R at places like OfficeMax on sale for as little as 34 cents a piece for 4, 8 or 16X DVD -R and I have never had a problem playing them in any machine.... at least so far. My two machines are a Sony and a Toshiba, and my sisters use Panasonic, Samsung, Onkyo and so far no problems.
