Yes and no. I have vonage and it goes through my linksys router. With the earlier firmware there was no QoS setting. I never had any problems. But then again, I wasn't maxing out my service. Now that I've moved and I have adelphia they are much slower. I have set QoS up but I don't notice any difference. If you're downloading off of kazaa and running an FTp server all day you may need to worry about it...but for a normal user it should be fine without it.
