Have you tried resetting the BIOS or clearing the CMOS? Did A quick
Google and did not find people complaining of this.

Only when there wasn't a bootable device in any of the drives &/or
the cmos battery had died.
Put in new CMOS battery. Same thing:
Asus A7V8X-X boots up with the following message:
