I'm not positive on the inputs for the 2407, but on my 2405, PiP basically means that it can display a box with the s-video, composite, or component input on top of the d-sub or DVI input. It can also do side-by-side display with the same options-- (d-sub OR DVI) AND (s-video OR composite OR component). I'm pretty sure component was dropped on the 2407 model, though.

Supposedly, the first generation 2407's (A00 and A01) had some banding problems using DVI. That has supposedly been resolved with the current A02 revision, and Dell has pledged to replace any A00's or A01's with brand new A02's regardless of the 21-day total satisfaction guarantee. Typically, after the 21-day guarantee, any warranty returns are serviced by sending a refurbished model.

Also, you might take a look at a current deal here: http://www.slickdeals.net/#p7727 --it gets you the 2407 as well as a 2.8GHz dual core/1GB/250GB XPS400 for around $1k. Might be able to sell the machine and get a better deal on the monitor, or keep the box as a decent secondary.

I am close to buying one of these.... I have read so many good things about the Dells, especially on Maximum PC that I really haven't looked at anything else. A good choice for the money?

I thought they supported HD.. but I don't see that in the specs? Or am I missing that?

I see this under features
<Picture In Picture / Picture By Picture,>

but I don't get it? Picture in picture is done with two tuners... what do they mean?

thanks
