I get that message (constantly) when my empty HD space
starts to get pretty small. This "triggers" before the similar
"system" message warns me I HAVE to do something about
it globally (while doing things in other programs...)
Have you checked your empty HD space?
(OR have you set HD quotas for her? or something similar?)

Every once in a while ( and a lot lately) OE asks to compact boxes and if I do
in box goes bye bye.
Anyway to turn off this annoyance ? Wife is the only one that uses OE, I use Eudora. Can not find any settings to get rid of this

BTW there is not much there so not sure what it wants to compact.
