I don't think it was ever touted as special....I think it is seen as typical to expect, though probably only good for 2 to 3 hours in real-time use.

Do you have data for what uses power on these kinds of devices? We know that power usage on a radio/receiver is a dynamic thing, so it changes depending on conditions.
