Should I get Intel Core 2 instead of an AMD X2 CPU? And if yes, how come?
Core 2 Duo is more expensive than X2, but is faster in virtually all tasks (although I doubt the speed matters for surfing, emailing, or business tasks.) So if you are a non-gamer and don't do any CPU intensive tasks (or don't mind waiting a few second more) then I'd go X2 and either save the money or put it on other options (more RAM, faster video, etc.)
I've been using the Asus boards ever since AOpen got out of the mainstream motherboard market (which was a shame, since AOpen made the most durable and stable boards I've used, and their support was fantastic - for an Asian company.) Asus is stable, don't know about reliability yet though. I sell a lot of X2s, so I'm using the M2NPV-VM on lower end systems and the M2N-E - I'm very happy with stability and overclockabilty on both. The Asus site is dog slow, and not as well organized as the AOpen site, but at least they offer reasonable support, and it certainly blows the MSI site out of the water.
So if you are looking X2, then I'd go with the M2N-E - if you want to save some money and can live with onboard graphics, go with the M2NPV-VM.
