This is for home use so I am looking at the 100-200 dollar range. I am not familiar with the difference between an unmanaged and a managed switch. Do I want/need a managed switch in a home environment?

Dell also has a 8 port web managed GB switch for ~$100. But, Dell switches are rebranded DLinks. The chassis is metal and comes with rack ears, though.
