I don't *think* it matters. But i would probably put the boot drive on 1,
optical on 2 and everything else after that.

Check the mobo manual to see if it specifies any particular order, but i
doubt it will.

Subject: [H] SATA cabling ?

Putting my first all sata system, mb has 6 sata slots. do the roms go on 1,2
and boot on 3 or ??? Somehow I was thinking 1-4 were raid and 5-6 were for
roms but I may be thinking wrong. raid disabled.

currently have 4 drive trays on 1-4 and roms on5&6 but haven't powered it up
yet. might be a dumb question, just sitting here after yard work and was
pondering 8-)
only 2 drives now, other trays for expansion.
Case is a Supermicro 733T-645. Power supply fan never shuts off when plugged
in. seems weird. stock fans designed for Supermicro mb's and run at turbine
speeds plugged into a regular mb. replacing these, disappointed in that.
Otherwise one of the nicest cases I ever worked on. dutch door hinge a
little flimsy but may be designed like that to prevent case damage.
