Some manufacturers (Seagate and WD) make server class SATA drives.

They always have more warranty (5 yrs) higher MTBF and also their firmware
is more suited for server IO workloads.

I think the Seagates are the Barracuda ES

And the WD's are the RE2 and RE3 ranges.  (RE3 being newer).
