JRS,
Yes, I had forgotten this "last-step" in my client setup for several
clients. This will be fixed today. Thank you again!
But, I was really more focused on XP's seemingly un-ending growth that
appears to be either logs or file growth regarding daily operation. I
think I know how to clean the "Restore" fluff. This I do every six
months or so; depending on what ESET finds in a given cycle.
The odd part is that I have seen zero infections since 2006, yet XP
continues to appear to grow (and slow down). I have to accept that XP
growth via WinUpdates are just part of the party. This I do accept so I
can remain as current as possible if/when I do have to "ask" the
MS-Weasels WuzUp! Like when I get to ROTHP (rock or the hard place).
I suppose that I suspect that XP is just collecting, recording, logging,
archiving a whole lot of data about itself (and my use of it!) that
never seems to get culled. Seems to be that W2Kpro took better care of
this "fluff."
Perhaps I just need to PO-PO my clients more often.(?) ATM, I do not do
this regularly. My clients either run 24/7, or, they are shut off.
Perhaps I just do not operate XP as XP expects to be used. I do not! I
do NOT allow the XP Firewall to run......I just do not know. And, why I
asked my question.
Best,
Duncan

Click 'Adjust for Best Performance', and it will take all the sliding menus, colored task bar, and other fluff out and make the desktop and boxes and popups look just like Win2K was..
