might this be one of the bad firmware seagates? if you go back a few months in the archives you'll find my posting about the $8 interface I used to reset mine.When mine died it was during a reboot, was there & when I rebooted it wasn't. Error was a sticky logging bug which left drive "BUSY" after a reset.
