Well Guys,
For about the last week or so I have been having a problem with numerous
instances of iexplore.exe in task manager when I am surfing using
Internet Explorer 8.0.6001.18702 . This is on a Windows XP PRO SP3 box
with all current updates and using Norton Internet Security 2010
for my virus protection with everything turned on but the kitchen sink. I
have run a total system scan 7 days in succession and it finds nothing.
If I am on-line long enough I have had as many as 38 instances of
iexplore.exe in my task manager and 2.6 gig of memory use. Even after getting
out of all browser pages they still remain in the task manager until I
reboot or log off and back on again. Also another thing that happens is that
when I open a URL from an icon on my desktop, 2 pages open (the one I
clicked on and a Google search page). If I do a search in Google and get
the results, the URLs listed there never work but get redirected to some
wierd search engine. Sometimes when ckicking on the results it will
take me to some of the following sites:

Then after closing them out I still hear the audio feed from at least two
different sites while I continue to surf and it does not stop until I either
reboot or log off and back on again. If anyone on the list has any advice
or fixes for this problem I would appreciate a reply.
