Thanks. I thought about the Corsair water cooling but I have a Thermaltake Level 10 GT case so the WATER2.0 Pro CLW0216 is a natural fit for the back fan and I like that it is set up as a push pull. I am sure it will cool the CPU down far below anything I need. I use Newegg and Amazon and very occasionally Pro Advantage although on a typical item they will be more expensive. I will have to check out Microcenter.

I went with a 4x8GB kit of 2133 CAS9 memory. No, it doesn't make much difference, I just wanted it. Outside of memory benchmarks or the very rare app that is memory performance sensitive, it's unlikely to be much better than a vanilla 1600 kit. I had a bunch (56GB worth) of the 4GB Samsung 30nm 1600 RAM that was so popular a while back, but I wasn't ever to get it stable running 8 sticks, so I decided to give the IMC a rest and use 4 8GB sticks instead. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231564 4GHz should be easy given what SBE did, but of course it remains to be seen. I've not used Thermaltake's all-in-one water units. My 3930k is cooled by a fully custom loop with wayyyy overkill capacity, and I've used various Corsair self-contained water units with good results. For tech parts, Microcenter, Provantage, and Amazon (even though I too have to pay tax) get the majority of my business if they have the part and are reasonably competitive. I actually just picked up an Asus Z87 Plus and an i7-4770k from Microcenter to play with on the bench, and decided to get some high-end RAM to play with too - a 2400 CAS10 8GB kit. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231587 Provantage didn't carry it, and Amazon's price was around 50% higher. -----Original Message----- From: hardware-boun...@lists.hardwaregroup.com [mailto:hardware-boun...@lists.hardwaregroup.com] On Behalf Of Winterlight Sent: Sunday, August 18, 2013 6:46 PM To: hardware@hardwaregroup.com Subject: [H] Greg>> RAM speed >>My P9X79 WS has been great. Hi Greg, What RAM speed are you using on your P9X79 WS ... DDR3 2400(O.C.)/2133(O.C.)/1866/1600/1333/1066....do you think it matters? I am planning or buying Corsair Vengeance series memory. I am not a big overclocking but I would like to get the 4930K running at 4Ghz which shouldn't be a problem given it's official 3.4/3.9GHz range. I will be using a Thermaltake WATER2.0 Pro CLW0216 cooler http://www.thermaltakeusa.com/Store/Product.aspx?C=1015&SC=1042&ID=1876 You wrote that you haven't been happy with Newegg lately. I don't have a problem with Newegg but they are in CA and I have to pay tax.I also pay tax with Amazon. Do you know of any equally competitive vendors outside of California. Thanks, w
