Indeed - I'm actually aborting my 
long-in-progress-but-too-busy/lazy-to-complete Skylake-X build in anticipation 
of a 3950X. Using a 3800X until it's available.

Also replacing my Haswell-E/Broadwell-E virtualization hosts with Threadripper 
1950s, and taking advantage of ECC memory.

It's been a very long time since I've been majority AMD.
