There are sites that will sell you a upgrade license for much less then full
price. However, you can't know as to the reliability of them nor how they might
effect your warranty. My advise.... pay the 100 bucks and know all is legal.
You won't spend days looking for a cheaper alternative. The upgrade will be
over in minutes and you can move on knowing that everything is as it should
be.<w>

Subject: [H] Finally got a new desktop gaming PC! Windows 11 install/transfer
question to new blank SSD

Hey all, I finally went back to my roots and got a new desktop gaming
PC...model Aegis R2 B14NUG9-833US

https://us.msi.com/Desktop/Aegis-R2-14th/Specification Third column over for my
model

that I got the last one of from Costco at a nice discount ($2400 marked down
from $2600), with the extra third year warranty for another $100...basically
complete peace of mind having 3 years warranty, which is why I bought it from
Costco!

So the system comes with Windows 11 Home and I want Pro. Now I'm going to
replace the SSD it came with, a basic 2TB Kingston with a much better 4TB
Samsung 990 Pro w/ heatsink that's coming tonite.

So is there a way for me to use/keep the Windows 11 install that came on the
drive with the system and *move* it-or at least the license-to the new blank
drive so I don't have to pay again for Windows 11?

I know that I can buy the upgrade license from Home to Pro-looks like it's $100
on Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/Windows-Upgrade-Home-Digital-Download/dp/B09WCTTXQ6

and worst comes to worst, I'll just buy a totally new Windows 11 Pro License,
which looks like it's $200 from MS as per:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/d/windows-11-pro/dg7gmgf0d8h4

But I figured I'd try and save some cash and get some use out of the fact that
the system already came with Windows 11 Home-if I can easily somehow get that
license to the new clean Win 11 install I'm gonna do on the SSD-and I assume
I'll have to install Win 11 Home first, and then buy the upgrade key for $100
and upgrade it that way, right?

TIA for the help!
