ScoobyDo,
Understand. I have already managed to "Disable" this service. I'll play services.msc and see if I get any additional powers. I am kinda cheesed that Brother did NOT fully clean up its' mess post a formal Uninstall of the Brother app. I recall this as a major discussion here over the years. I've remained optimistic that SW vendors would improve over time. Some have. Some are slower. Think Brother is a slow one!

My registry cleaner is CCleaner v3.0.0.1303 ATM.
This problem is an irritation, chronic yes, but an irritation only. ATM, I can not fault XP. XP fully recovers from the exercise of the RESET Button. LOL!
Best,
Duncan

"services.msc" in the start/run box and right click/properties to change the particular one you want altered Duncan. Have you got a good registry cleaner? Revo uninstaller and ccleaner are good apps for clearing out the junk left behind by removed programs and have a great day!

Can a Service be removed/deleted?

(WinXPpro SP3)
I am working a chronic problem on one client. It liked to just stop/stall. It does not BSOD. I tracked errors in the event viewer to my Brother AdminPro application. Fine. I removed/deleted this app 48 hours ago. Yes, I do suspect some "left-behinds." Today, this client "froze/stopped" again still pointing at the Brother app removed before. Odd methinks! Dug some more and I find a Brother Scheduler Service in my Services window. It is stopped and manual. I now have it Disabled. I will watch for another 24 hours. I have read all the Help about Services. I see nothing about Service deletion.
Thanks,
Duncan
