So, you're saying that way back in the early years you all postulated
*ALL* the ways information would be gather up and used for ill-purpose?

Anthony,
Good share, but not quite true. This whole topic was talked damn near
to death way back in the
early years of this List as WE postulated what the WWW would evolve
to. Sadly it seems that we
now live with Commercial interests in charge that requires personal
transparency paramount.
Something is broken IMO.
If you yourself have nothing to hide, fine. Yet, if I choose what to
'share' I am castigated because
I refuse to be naked. Please put me in the NO column for this protocol
going forward.
And, yes, way back then we had some of the infamous 'bots' also.

it's true. No way one could foresee all of the possible ways

Should you be doing private business stuff with suppliers/contacts,

Just dumb if you ask me.
JHMO. But, I am such a noob in this new world of 'Internet is King!'
Precisely the issue. But not even business plans. I was recently
attacked on a support forum by someone who decided to Google me and
then belittle my question (he said I didn't provide enough
information) and pointed out that someone who was supposedly as
knowledgeable as I was (he listed several tech business I have been
connected to) should know better. While not surprised that it could
be done, I was rather shocked that someone would take the time to do
it. I'm changing my approach to online forums and listservs because
of this.
