Did the link shared. Did get the glop from MS. Tried the file on both
machines. Did it two ways (Safe Mode and live).No Joy.

Both tries fail and point at other files that did install correctly.
Very strange to me.

Reality:  It is only 2 machines. Neither machine is important to my LAN
happiness. The machines are just part of the hobby.
I could truly re-install both clients w/o any grief; other than NOT Knowing
why this WinUpdate is chronically failing.............. ???
Even with ESET (v5), I accept a possible bad guy at large!
