I never record TV on my PCs (I use TIVOs) so I have no idea about this.
On my TIVO, I can record any content...but I can only download that
which the content owner permits. Most HD stuff on standard networks I
can download and convert to mp4, but premium content like HBO &
Showtime, I cannot.
