The Verge has a brief video roundup of the unusual input devices found
at CES:

Included are Tobii (high precision eye tracking device), SoftKinetic
(virtual reality goggles), Elliptic Labs (ultrasonic gesture detection;
supposedly uses less power than using a video camera), and Intel
RealSense (like Microsoft's Kinect).

At least some of these input devices will be made available as add-on
peripherals and could be integrated into your next robot or home
automation controller.
