Thanks Daniel, No I did not know about the file haretlog.txt.
Unfortunately it is not created after any of the boots. I looked in both
the fat and ext2 partitions.

fdisk -l gives the following

Disk /dev/mmcblk0: 2032 MB, 2032664576 bytes
4 heads, 16 sectors/track, 62032 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 64 * 512 = 32768 bytes
Disk identifier: 0x1878abf2

Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/mmcblk0p1 1 30519 976600 83 Linux
/dev/mmcblk0p2 30520 62032 1008416 b W95 FAT32

This are the contents of default.txt:

set kernel "zImage"
set cmdline "root=/dev/mmcblk0p1 rootdelay=5 psplash=false"
set kernel_offset 0x90000

bootlinux

These are the last lines of the error messages

rx1950: disabled charge
fat: utf8 is not a recommended charset TO fat filesystems will be case
sensitive!
YES: mounted root (vfat filesystem)
Freeing init memmory 140K
Warning: unable to open on initial console
kernel panic - not syncing: No init found. Try passing int = option to
kernel.

Thanks for your help and for all the others replying. Gustav
