In case there are any publishers or friends or colleagues of publishers on

list, I thought I would send this message.
Someone I know has translated into English Maaser Rishon (First Tithe) by the
late Yisrael Eldad, which was published first in 1958 in Hebrew. Dr. Eldad
received his PhD in philosophy from the University of Vienna. He was a member
of the Jewish underground Lechi (also known as the Stern Group) that fought
the British in the 1940s in order to establish a Jewish state, and was its
chief ideologist. After the founder, Avraham Stern, was assassinated by the
British, he became one of the triumvirate that ran Lechi. (Another member of
the triumvirate was future prime minister Yitzchak Shamir.) After
independence, Dr. Eldad continued to teach and write (and also translated
Nietzsche into Hebrew) and was arguably the most important intellectual of the
Zionist Right. Maaser Rishon is his memoirs of the underground and an
important work for anyone interested in the history of Zionism. If anyone
knows of possible publishers for an English translation of this work, please
email me directly.
