I use the search page as the homepage on the library
computers at Emek Hebrew Academy and would love to have
feedback on making the search page more useful for
other children's libraries - especially regarding new
links for Jewish homework help and Jewish games.
I was pleased and surprised to see a reference
in the information business thread to a tradition of
library tea parties. I want to report that I have been
hosting tea parties in the school library for the last
three years (first at Yavneh, now at Emek) with much
success. An invitation to my tea parties is a prize
valued even more by the boys than by the girls - so
much so that the boys begged me to institute the job of
"waiter" so that more can participate, as I limit tea
party guests to 4-8 maximum. The tea party is actually
part of my behavior incentive program. Students earn
stickers for checking out books and returning &
renewing them on time, as well as for successfully
completing library skills games. They can then "spend"
those stickers on a variety of privileges. With this
program in place, I have almost no behavior problems in
the library. If people are interested in more details,
