Hello! I am a library science student taking a Judaic Librarianship class and I just reviewed a CD that is great by Craig Taubman, I also own 2 other CDs by this same artist, Friday Night Live and Voice of the Spirit, also great.
His Site is http://www.craignco.com/ I got interested in Craig Taubman when I started to attend One Shabbat Morning service 2 years ago, his modern music I think could be perfect for a Reform Congregation. From the musical talents that brought us the CD Friday Night Live comes One Shabbat Morning. Craig Taubman, who is the composer and lyricist, provides the main vocals and is without a doubt one of the most inspiring voices in modern Jewish music today. One Shabbat Morning has taken the whole concept of prayer, spirituality and Judaism to a new level by combining modern arrangements with ancient melodies. The CD is filled with additional vocalists; Cantor Ira Bigeleisen, Patti Linsky and Alberto Mizrahi. The cover art is simple yet distinctive and the liner notes by Rabbi Moshe Rothblum are quite informative. This is an outstanding recording that blends traditional, familiar liturgy and music with more than a flare of contemporary sound. The CD is filled with 13 melodies; titles include Elohai, Bay Ana Rachetzm, Mee Chamocha, Sin Shalom and many more.
