LAMA/PRMS Swap & Shop Committee Solicits Best of Show Entries

Outstanding library public relations materials from the 2003 calendar year are being sought for the Library Administration and Management Association (LAMA) Public Relations and Marketing Section's Swap and Shop Best of Show awards competition.

All libraries are invited to submit any materials produced between January and December of 2003 from the following categories:
· Annual reports
· Bibliographies / booklists
· Calendars of events (three consecutive issues must be submitted)
· Newsletters (three consecutive issues must be submitted)
· Services / policy / orientation materials
· Materials that promote programs, events, or educate the public about diversity
· Fund-raising materials / programs / events
· Programs / special events
· Original children's summer reading club materials
· Original young adult summer reading club materials
· Original adult reading club materials
· Materials about the Internet or your library's web site.

For consideration in any of these categories, each entry should include a completed entry form plus four copies of each item submitted. Libraries may enter more than one category. Entries will be judged by a team of experts. Judging in all categories will be based on content, originality, design format, and effectiveness. Entry forms can be found on the LAMA/PRMS section of ALA's web site in the "awards" section.

Winning entries will be on display during the Swap and Shop program scheduled for Sunday, June 27, 2004, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. during the American Library Association (ALA) annual conference in Orlando, Florida. In addition to the awards presentation, hundreds of free samples of library public relations materials, including those from contest winners, will be available during the program.

Entries will be accepted after March 5 and should be postmarked no later than April 2, 2004. Send four copies of each item to be judged, with separate entry forms filled out completely, to the following address:
