All, The AJL NJ Chapter will be holding a Regional Workshop "Celebrating the 350th Anniversary of Jewish Settlement in North America."
The Chapter will honor Bracha Weisbarth on her retirement and return to Israel. The Workshop will take place on Thursday, November 18.04, at 2 p.m., at the Jewish Education Association of MetroWest, Located at Aidekman Family Campus of MetroWest, 901 Route 10 (East), Whippany, NJ 07981 The program will highlight the exhibit "Who's minding the store?". The exhibit takes the visitor into the realm of the "mom and pop" grocery store, and shows the evolution and revolution in the grocery business into what has become the familiar supermarket chain. What makes the exhibit a Jewish one is the very prominent role local New Jersey Jews played in the invention of the modern supermarket. A lecture followed by a tour with the exhibit's curator Linda Forgosh The second part of the program will be a presentation "Planning Your Library Activities Celebrating the 350th Anniversary of Jewish Settlement in North America."
