Manhattan High School for Girls is a yeshiva high school on the upper east side in NY City. There is an opening for a P/T Librarian for the coming school year. MLS required.
Since MHS is an orthodox hs, familiarity with seforim and Hebrew books that might be used in such an environment is a must. The librarian is expected to maintain regular communication with administration and faculty, and be available to students at all times to assist them in the use of the library and in their research. The librarian conducts library orientations with each class at the beginning of the school year, and generally promotes the library and encourages its use (including the internet) both for research and reading pleasure. The library is automated. Cataloging books and media is an ongoing activity. MHS is a Bookshelf library. We hope to receive the AviChai grant again next year.
