Thank you very much to Mary Ann Brooks for sending me this article from
Library Journal regarding repair and maintenance of DVDs.  Several of you
asked me to share my responses with the group, and this was the best.

The article gives specific info on various machines that libraries can
purchase to repair DVDs.  Unfortunately, the cheapest one that they
recommend is $600.  I will have to look for a donor!

This feels a bit like a no-win situation for a low-budget library like mine.
I don't have $600 in my budget to purchase the repair machine, but without
the machine, the money I do spend on DVDs is almost wasted, as they get
scratched and eventually become unusable.  So, as I said, I will look for a
donor or perhaps some local grant money.
