Our library was renovated in 1998. The best advice I got from a safran,
was to rent movable shelves/carts to put all the books on instead of
packing them into boxes. That way, you can kind of keep your materials in
order; and, if it's possible/desirable, your collection can be accessible
during the renovation. We rented from
http://www.caseyhayes.com/Equipment.htm in Boston.

Subject: Library Renovation

Hello,
Our library will be undergoing a renovation next year.

Are there other synagogue librarians who have been through this? I would
like to hear about your experiences. What did you do with your book
collection while the renovation was taking place?

We have a collection of about 15,000. I am working closely with the
architect and our planning committee, but would appreciate hearing about
the experiences of other synagogue librarians.
