Our synagogue library is considering making our searchable database available to our members on line. The idea being that any member could search from home to see if we had a particular book or material on a topic.
I'd be interested to hear about the experience of other synagogue libraries that have put their databases on line. In particular: 1. How long has your database been on line? 2. Do you have any way to tell how many times the database has been searched on-line? 3. If the answer to #2 is yes, approximately how many times/year has this on-line searchable feature been used by your members. 4. What is the approximate membership of your congregation? 5. Any other information that you might have on this topic would be appreciated.
