Hi everyone, Thanks for your responses on where to begin. It is strange trying to plan a library with a committee of nonlibrarians. Is there anyone out there that has a small library (4000 volumes or less) with no real cataloging records? Has anyone just tried Excel or Access and been successful in keeping a basic shelf list and location? Money is an issue. Im sure it is with many of you. But I want to do the right thing.
