One of the board members of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College, William Fern, has developed a relationship with the director of the Institute for Jewish Studies at Nanjing University in China. He reports that they have amassed the largest library of Judaica in China and are looking for any books of Jewish interest to add to their collection and that of the Jewish studies departments at Kaifeng University and elsewhere in China. William says that boxes of books may be sent via surface mail through the US Postal Service at a cost of $42 per 40 lbs. Books and journals should be packed in a box and the post office will ship in a postal bag. William also reports that Professor Xu is able to set up an excellent tour of China including visits to places of Jewish interest and opportunities to meet with Chinese professors and students of Jewish studies.
