Yes, Temple Ahavat Achim of Gloucester Massachusetts had a terrible fire and burned to the ground. The apartment building next door caught fire and it spread to the Temple. Unfortunately, a disabled resident of the apartment building could not be rescued and died. The congregation of 250 families held Shabbat services at a nearby church. Many of you may know of the Rabbi Emeritus of that synagogue,Myron Geller, the author of several Jewish children's books.
Below is the website of the Temple with a statement from the Rabbi of their needs. http://www.taagloucester.org/ Helene Tuchman, Librarian, retired The Rabbi Marshall R.
