Library Page Special Collections Report to: Administrative Librarian for Special Collections
Summary description of position: Daily functions of the Special Collections Circulation Desk. Specific duties and responsibilities: Responsibilities include signing in users and updating circulation and item information in ALEPH, our online catalog, paging materials from rare book stacks, monitoring users in the special collections reading room, assisting users in the physical handling of rare materials, preparing items for scanning and keeping records of scanning requests. Assisting with projects involving shelving and shifting of materials in the Rare Book Room. Undertaking some basic copy cataloging and editing of inventories. Requirements: Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated commitment to excellent service. Ability to interact effectively with students, faculty, staff, external constituencies and the general public. Ability to perform detailed tasks at Special Collections circulation desk with accuracy. Punctuality and reliability, and availability to work afternoon shift, 20 hours per week. Educational requirements: BA and reading knowledge of Hebrew. Knowledge of Access and Excel a plus.
