The Public Relations Committee of AJL is responsible for raising
awareness of AJL's programs and building relationships with the
"outside world." At the moment it is a committee of one: just me,
Heidi Estrin. I'm looking for a few people to join with me to help
bring AJL's message to the world.

Skills that would be useful within the PR Commitee include writing
skills (for creating press releases and articles), a good level of
comfort with technology (for taking advantage of opportunities to get
AJL's name out via social media), shmoozing skills (for networking
with other organizations), research and/or planning skills (for
helping to create new AJL programs). We don't necessarily need one
person who is good at all of these things - if you feel that you have
just one of these skills, we'd be glad to have you.

There is one particular job I really do want to fill: I want to find
one or more people who would take on an ongoing role of blogging for
AJL year-round (not just during the convention).

If you are interested in joining the PR committee, please email me at
[EMAIL PROTECTED], and/or please look for me during the convention in
Cleveland. I will be representing PR at the AJL Advocacy task force
meeting on Sunday at 4pm if you'd like to join me there.

Thanks!
Heidi Estrin
PR Committee
