Full time Archivist needed in Library and Archives department of 
Simon Wiesenthal Center, Inc.

DUTIES:

·         Survey, appraise, preserve, arrange and describe 
collections within the
               Simon Wiesenthal Center-Musem of Tolerance Archives
·         Create metadata providing access to archival holdings, 
including controlled
                vocabulary
·         Provide archival reference and research guidance for the 
Simon Wiesenthal Center staff world-wide, the professional community 
and the public
·         Administer the Digital Archives, including selection of 
information and
                images, and liaison with web host
·         Process reference requests for the Digital Archives 
including permissions and agreements
·         Prepare procedural materials and supervise Archives' 
volunteers and interns
·         Manage archival storage
·         Maintain archival files, including Deeds of Donation, loan 
documents (in and out)
·         Maintain MOT permanent archival exhibitions, including 
rotation, cleaning and repair
·         Assist in planning and setting up archival displays in 
coordination with MOT special events and temporary exhibitions

           QUALIFICATIONS:

           MLS/MLIS degree  – with Archives specialty
·         Significant coursework in 20th century European and American History
·         Demonstrated knowledge of Jewish History
·         Reading knowledge of Hebrew/Yiddish and German preferred
·         Experience in fundamentals of archival and historical 
records management
·         Familiarity with MARC (Machine Readable Cataloguing Record) 
format and computer application
·         Demonstrated ability to appraise historical records.
·         Work independently and collaboratively with other 
departments and projects
·         Excellent verbal and written skills
·         Strong public services orientation
·         Experience with digitization projects and management of 
government and
·         publicly funded grants
·         Current on standards and committed to continuing education 
in librarianship and archival administration
·         Evidence of ability to meet professional standards in 
research, cataloging and services of the Library and Archives, for 
example: courses taken, membership in professional organizations, 
professional development credits, papers written and/or projects completed
·         Additional European languages a plus
