I would recommend Naomi's Song, a YA novel (ages 12 and up) by Selma Kritzer Silverberg, published this year by JPS. Set in the fortified city of Bethlehem and the mountainous towns of Moab, the book imagines the life of the biblical Naomi from girlhood to marriage and motherhood, and finally to her deepening friendship with her daughter-in-law, Ruth.
