THE JOY OF DANCE – AT ANY AGE

Two films from Ruth Diskin Films that will

make your heart skip and your spirit swing

Ida's Dance Club

Doc. 59 min

Written and Directed by Dalit Kimor

"The combination of happiness and laughter , lots of music and
dancing along with depth and smart movie-making have made the film
enjoyable for audiences of any age."

Dancing Alfonso

Doc. 50 min

Written & Directed by Barak Heymann

"Heyman's camera embraces Alfonso; as he dances elegantly, as he
flirts enthusiastically, as he glides gracefully… He is a man who has
the whole world at his feet and he takes on the world without shame."

Dear Librarian/Professor,

As people are living longer, the issue of how to deal with old age
has taken on additional resonance. Two films from Ruth Diskin Films
allow us a peek at the exceptional inner worlds of senior citizens in
Tel Aviv who have a unique take on getting old.

Dancing Alfonso is an award winning film with a rewarding character
at its center.

Barak Heymann follows a Tel Aviv senior citizen leading a dramatic
life. Alfonso, the lead dancer in a flamenco class with an average
age of 75, uses dance to express the alternating emotions of hope and
rage of a man on the cusp of losing his wife to illness.

Ida's Dance Club is where once a year a ballroom dancing competition
takes place. All the competitors are way past retirement age, but
that doesn't stop them from dancing and singing, from falling in love
and being disappointed. The competition participants hardly know one
another outside the club walls, but their lives, full of problems,
are gradually revealed to us.

We are offering the films for purchase at the price of $300 per title
for universities - and a 10% discount on the purchase of both. The
price for public libraries is $115 per title with a 5% discount for
the purchase of both. Prices do not include shipping and handling.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon-
