Experience teaching library instruction and/or technology skills in a classroom setting. Demonstrated interest in teen/YA literature. Strong leadership skills and ability to work independently, as well as part of a team. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Judaic librarianship. Experience in school librarianship. Knowledge of archival practices and standards. Experience selecting and implementing new technology solutions. Essential Duties: Manage day-to-day operations and long-term strategic planning for school library media center, serving grades 6-12. Create policies and procedures for library department. Oversee collection development/management. Negotiate contracts with vendors and purchase all department supplies and software. Work closely with academic and student support departments to ensure library collections and services meet the teaching needs of the community. Manage circulation and provide access to print materials and online databases. Keep statistics and report to administration on library-related issues. Collaborate with faculty members and administration to integrate library instruction, research skills, and reading enrichment into curriculum. Provide reader's advisory services to school community, which includes students, faculty, staff, and parents. Manage library web presence and market services to user community. Create innovative programming and services in support of library's mission. Supervise library volunteers and staff. Act as faculty advisor to student organizations. Chaperone student experiential learning trips. Provide support, as needed, in the area of classroom technology integration. Serve on school committees, including but not limited to, Library/Technology Committee. Provide leadership and expertise in project to establish institutional archive and digital asset management system.
