I missed the query about Maggie Anton, but I can say that we brought
her to New Haven in the fall as part of our Jewish Book Festival. I
thought she was fantastic. She spoke entirely without notes --
taught Talmud and history and also discussed her novels and the
writing process. She was a hit with both men and women, although I
would especially recommend advertising her to groups of women and
even teens, as she exemplifies a strong, smart, educated woman.
(plus, we sold a lot of books, in a community that doesn't always buy books!)
