On Thursday, Aug. 26, The National Library of Israel was visited by a
delegation of 12 librarians, members of the American Library
Association, who came to Israel through the People to People
Ambassador Programs. The delegation was lead by past ALA president,
Dr. Camilia A. Alire. ,
The group spent a week in Israel, and visited libraries and library
affiliated organizations, including the library school at Bar-Ilan,
Mediateque - the library of the Israeli Design Museum in Holon,
Malmad Inter-University Center for Digital Information, Sourasky
Library at Tel Aviv University, ASMI - the Israel Association of
Librarians and Information Professionals, Haifa University Library,
Tantur Ecumenical Institute and the Yad Vashem Library.
The trip was organized by Naomi Heim, who did a wonderful job making
the arrangements so that the group had a successful trip with many
positive experiences. We hope to welcome other groups from ALA .
