"This is not allowed under current copyright law."
This bears review: 1. Is the item owned by the person making the copy? 2. Is the original destroyed after the copy is made? 3. Is the copy the sole one made? 4. Is the copy solely for the user of the owner, i.e., not to be resold? The information is unchanged; only the medium is changed. I have heard it argued that, with these restrictions, copyright is notviolated. This is a grey area which requires more investigation. _______________________________________________ Dr. Don Weinshank Professor Emeritus Comp.
