Children Without a Shadow, 66 min., Documentary

In this beautiful documentary the story of one boy becomes the story
of an entire people who were able to survive against all odds. Prof.
Shaul Harel is a successful pediatrician in contemporary Israel. But
in the 1930's he was 3 year old Charles – a young Belgian Jew whose
immigrant parents had the foresight to hide him as the dangers of war
approached.

One of the most effective ways to learn about the past is through the
experiences of individuals. CHILDREN WITHOUT A SHADOW is the
remarkable story of a remarkable man. This film allows a peek at a
very personal story which embodies the courage and perseverance of
those who survived the Holocaust. The story of the Jewish community
in Belgium has not been previously explored and in this touching film
we meet adults who survived the war and went on to become successful
–and even happy adults.
