Our local committee met with Past-Pres.Suzi Dubin at the Marriott
Chateau Champlain at the end of October, to discuss convention plans
and to tour the hotel. This beautiful hotel is centrally located in
downtown Montreal, on the metro line, and within walking distance to
shopping, restaurants, museums, and tourist sites such as Vieux
Montreal and the Old Port area. The views from the hotel rooms are
magnificent, with Mount Royal on one side, and the St.Laurence River
on the other.

Our programming committee has created an off-site event on Monday
afternoon at the Jewish Community Campus in Snowdown, a short ride
from downtown by bus or metro, where there will be presentations
going on all afternoon, as well as tours of the Jewish Public
Library, Holocaust Center and much more. This will be followed by a
reception hosted by the Jewish Public Library. Tickets for the
Yiddish Festival Theater event that evening will be offered as part
of the registration for convention, and we are hoping many of you
will attend.

We have quite a number of presentations planned around the
Montreal/Canadian Jewish community in terms of library and archival
collections, to be given by local AJL members, but we are still
looking for proposals, and I am incuding the CFP, once again, in this message.

See you all at AJL Convention in Montreal, June 19-22, 2011.
