$40,000 in Prizes to be Awarded with Launch

of New Jewish Novel

All Royalties will be Given to the Jewish National Fund

Gefen Publishing House of Jerusalem and New York has announced the
February 20, 2011 Israeli and E-book publication date and the May 2,
2011 international publication date of its fascinating new novel,
Haazinu (Listen Up)by Yerachmiel ben-Yishye. The launch of the novel
has been combined with a $40,000 Literary Prize Contest, comprising
three independent competitions: a $1000 Bible quiz, a $3000 riddle,
and a $36,000 fiction writing competition, all based on the novel.

Details and the Official Rules of the Contest's first competition,
including the novel's first 11 pages, can now be found on Gefen's
Facebook and Twitter accounts, and on the main Gefen site:
www.gefenpublishing.com, from the latter of which they may be
downloaded. The $1000 Bible quiz competition runs from January 24,
2011 through February 17, 2011 while the other two competitions
follow sequentially. All author royalties from the book have been
assigned to the Jewish National Fund for projects taking place in Israel.

About the Book: Haazinu looks at the eternal question of why bad
things happen to innocents. Through group therapy sessions at a U.S.
medical center facilitated by a German ex-priest (now a psychiatric
social worker), four visitors (a pediatric oncologist; an
anthropologist; an African American Southern farmer cum
industrialist; and a Jewish, Manhattan businessman) to terminally-ill
patients tell the intimate stories of their relationships with these
patients, which then propel the group on a quest in search of God.
Based on passages from the Bible and the group's interwoven stories
of love and hate, the group's journey to find God takes them to the
Caribbean, where pieces to an ancient Hebrew riddle, brought to the
group by the ex-priest, begin to crystallize. As the group
approaches the answer to its quest, a surprise ending compels the
reader to realize that nothing in the stories was as it seemed, and
the answer to the quest could bring health, peace, and prosperity to the world.
