On March 25, 2011 in the Pickford Theater at the Library of Congress the LC Professional Guild, AFSCME Local 2910, will sponsor a commemoration of the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire of March 25, 1911. The event will feature Chris Llewellyn reading poems from her award-winning book "Fragments from the Fire." Ms. Llewellyn is a winner of the prestigious Walt Whitman Award for poetry. Photographs from the Library's Prints and Photographs Division will be presented and staff members will memorialize the tragic event in song. March 25, 2011 is the 100 year anniversary of the Triangle Fire which is being commemorated during Women's History Month.
